02About

An Office Built to Think with You.

Hatton Carter is a Western European multi-family office based in London and The Hague. We work with people whose wealth calls for sustained attention and steady judgment.

01Who we are

Who We Are

Hatton Carter was set up for clients who expect an adviser to stay close to their affairs and engage seriously with the decisions in front of them.

The office looks after substantial private wealth. Our work reaches across investments, ownership, obligations and the questions that sit within families, acting as a hub for financial and personal considerations over long periods.

02Where we sit

From London and The Hague: A European Base with an International Outlook.

Our two offices reflect the way many clients already live and invest: internationally, commercially and across more than one legal and financial environment.

Legal frameworks, tax rules and practical constraints differ from place to place, so advice has to make sense across those boundaries. Our clients often live with this kind of cross-border pattern, which is why location and perspective both matter.

  • A

    London

Our practice in the City. Cross-border investment, planning and family office coordination for UK and international clients.

  • B

    The Hague

Our continental practice. Investment work and structural reviews for families with positions across the Netherlands and Europe.

03How we think

How We Think

We begin by understanding how everything stands today: assets, liabilities, cash demands, entities and existing advisers. Recommendations then follow from that work.

In some areas, stability is more valuable than change. In others, arrangements need to shift. The point is to know which is which before action is taken.

04What clients value

What Clients Often Look For.

  • 01 / 04

    Independent thought

  • 02 / 04

Care with both language and numbers

  • 03 / 04

    Composed handling of sensitive issues

  • 04 / 04

    Reliable follow-through

05How we engage

How We Work with Clients.

New relationships usually open with a period of review.

We look closely at the current arrangements and at the points where information or responsibility is unclear. That can include portfolios, private holdings, borrowing, trusts or companies, long-term commitments and support for family members.

Once that work is done, we settle the mandate and the pattern of ongoing contact.

06What sets us apart

What Distinguishes Hatton Carter

The office concentrates on situations where wealth is substantial and the decisions around it carry real weight. We favour considered decisions and careful implementation, followed by ongoing review.

07Over time

A Working Relationship That Deepens Over Time

Over time, a better grasp of a client’s overall position allows for more precise judgement. The aim is to let that accumulated understanding inform each new decision.
